neps Posted April 10, 2003 Report Share Posted April 10, 2003 Hey, Having trouble restoring, cleaned the drive numerous times, and nothing has worked. The tape is from August of 2001, it has been in storage in a bank vault that we just removed it from this mornign. The log is reporting this error: - 4/10/2003 12:18:49 PM: Retrieving from REDUNDANT_BACKUP_[002]? Device trouble: ?14-REDUNDANT_BACKUP_[002]?, error 206 (drive reported a failure: dirty heads, bad media, etc.). Additional error information for device "EXB-8900/Mammoth DC" [0:4], Sense > f0 00 03 00 06 39 6e 18 00 00 00 01 11 00 00 00 00 00 (EXABYTE |EXB-89008E00012F|V41b) 4/10/2003 12:29:27 PM: 1 execution errors. Remaining: 1 files, 1021 KB Completed: 0 files, zero KB Performance: 0.0 MB/minute Duration: 00:10:38 (00:10:38 idle/loading/preparing) Am I SOL? I tried recovering from a Tape from this week, and it recovered fine. Also, every time it gives me the error 206, the tape drive says to clean, even after I just cleaned it.
