drouk
I was considering the purchase of a SUN StorEdge L1800 Tape Library/Autochanger and wanted to know if Retrospect could use it. As far as I can tell, Dantz doesn't list it as being "supported", but I don't know if that is the same as saying its totally incompatable and unusable. AmyJ
This drive is not yet supported for use with Retrospect. For a list of currently qualified devices, please see: Hardware Search Engine Dantz goes through a rigorous qualification process with every drive we test. This means that not every drive will be qualified and we can never guarantee that a particular device will be supported. Some drives do not get qualified ever, and some take 6 months to a year to get support. We have no way of telling if this drive will be supported or not at this moment. It is not possible to know what may or may not work with an unsupported drive.
drouk
FYI: Retrospect seems to recognize the library as an ATL 4/52 library (which is what the internal hardware is). Thus far no problems, although it doesn't seem to see all 4 import/loader slots, but I think thats a limit with Retrospect.
