scip
I'm trying to backup an OS X Mac (10.2.4) to another Mac (OS 8.6, Webstar 4.5) on my LAN. The machines are connected to the same hub, and when I try an FTP backup, it just sits there waiting to connect. On a lark, I tried the same type of backup to the same ftp server from my friend's dsl account (which is connected to an external network), and was able to backup fine. I also tried to backup to the same ftp server from my home dsl connection, which is part of the same network (I work for an ISP) that the ftp server is on. I've also tried to backup to a different ftp server on our network (Win2000 Server running the builtin IIS ftp service), and I get the same stalls (the Please Wait... message), and thus no backup. Anyone have any ideas? Steve
AmyJ
Make sure your Firewall is configured to allow FTP: Go to System Preferences > Sharing Make sure FTP Access is checked on both the Services tab and the Firewall tab
