DanHoughton
I'm new to using Retrospect and am experiencing something which I don't understand. When I start a new media backup of all files, Retrospect selects the number of files which correspond to the number of files on disk (in this case 31,302). After selecting all the files, there is a pause and a new filecount is displayed (28,840). The file sizes change as well from 5.2gb to 4.8gb. I'm puzzled why a couple thousand files would drop out of a backup. I also have noticed that there are 20 system files which Retrospect seems to ignore. Does anyone have any information that may help? Thanks in advance, Dan Houghton
AmyJ
The following Knowledgebase article will best explain the behavior you're seeing: TITLE: Why does Retrospect show different file count and size values than the Windows Explorer? http://www.dantz.com/index.php3?SCREEN=kbase&ACTION=KBASE&id=27657
