Mikee
I have two scripts that backup to two different backup sets. I would like for each backup run to backup only the files that are in neither backup set yet - an extended Mach files option that considers two backup sets instead of just one, as it is now. regards, Mikee
Mikee
Sorry for the typos - I was typing it in the morning and my index finger did not wake up yet March and Mach is Match, of course. ---- To explain the idea further , for the systems where most of the data is incremental (old files don't get deleted or edited) the following scheme would have a lot of merit: Run recycle backup once to backup set "Full Backup" and keep it safe. Run Normal backup that does not backup any files that are already in "Full Backup" to backup set "Differential Backup" The biggest benefit from the above scheme would come for systems with slow clients (less data to backup) and where data doesn't fit on one tape anymore but incrementals would for quite some time. Full backup = 50GB (one tape) Daily Incremental backup = 333MB or 25 Months of incremental data on one tape cheers, Mikee
