ehpub
We backup a Win200 Server with a Macintosh file share on it. When we restore the Mac files, they lose their file TYPE information so that the mac users now see them as windows files and they can't open the applications that created them by clicking on the files. For example: pdf files won't open with Acrobat. This problem can be resolved by opening the application first, then openning the file and saving a new copy. Is there any way to be sure the file TYPE information is saved so that a restore will also restore this info? We are using the DUPLICATE method of backing up the files. Thanks for any help! Retrospect Professional cannot access a client on a Windows 2000 Server. How exactly are you duplicating the files? Through Windows Networking?
