krazycheck Posted March 13, 2003 Report Share Posted March 13, 2003 I've run into something that's baffeled me - in the last 4 days, 3 of my backup tapes have been renamed. "2-Backup Set B" now appears as "2-Backu' Set B", etc. Obviously, when a tape's renamed, Retrospect won't use it because it thinks it's the wrong tape. And it takes a whole mess of work to get things back on track. Now, I've used this drive for a total of about 40 hours, and have not cleaned it yet. I didn't get a cleaning tape, and am in the process of getting that. But I'm not convinced that is the problem. Has anyone run across this - or know what to do to correct the problem? krazycheck Posted March 14, 2003 Author Report Share Posted March 14, 2003 Don't ask me to explain it - but came to work this morning and the 3 tapes that had been renamed were back to normal, I've used them all already.
