btbogdan
I am backing up a PC laptop to a G4 533 with Retro 5.0 238, driver 3.4.103. I keep getting the Mapid Database is corupt. Today, however I was able to back up to backup set H fine, but then whe i went to second backup set I , the backup set reported "- 3/11/2003 11:32:04 AM: Copying Laptop HD (C:) on Laptop… Scanning incomplete, error -24242 (mapid database is corrupt). * Resolved container Local Desktop container to 5 volumes:" Isn't it the same Database? I tried the qck fix of removing the Laptop from the script adn the network and then adding it back with no success. I reallly do not want to delete the preferences as one backup set is working and establishing preferences over again is a real time consuming pain. Any ideas or quick fixes. I believe the coruption came becasue the set had a 102 error adn I stopped the backup, quit retro and then restarted the backup process again - but the Error 102 is another thread TIA
btbogdan
Can anyone tell me where this file exists so I can delete it and start fresh. I removed client, deleted the pref file and and ran Norton on the Laptop to correct Windows and disk problems. When I ran Retrospect, It backed up to one bacupup set, but not to the other. AmyJ
The Retro.Config file is located in Library/Preferences/Retrospect If the problem continues, run Scan Disk on the client volume being accessed at the time of the error.
