ekfnet
What in the world am I doing wrong. I am trying to do a backup of my C drive to a file backup and am pointing the backup to another hard drive. The program says it needs 6.2GB to backup my C drive and I am pointing to my D drive which has over 70GB free, yet I get the following message immediately when I start the backup: + Executing Immediate Backup at 3/10/2003 10:14 PM To Backup Set Backup Set A... - 3/10/2003 10:14:42 PM: Copying Eds c - 80g (C:) Not enough disk space for selected files (short by about 2.3 G). 3/10/2003 10:14:43 PM: Execution incomplete Remaining: 34129 files, 6.2 GB Completed: 0 files, zero KB Performance: 0.0 MB/minute Duration: 00:00:01 I appreciate any help. awnews
How is the big backup drive formatted? NTFS has a very large filesize limit (2TB I recall, so won't have to worry about it for a couple of years) while FAT32 is much smaller (4GB I think), regardless of the amount of free space on the drive. Also, RP6 can do a Disk backup (instead of a File backup) which breaks the backup into smaller chunks.
ekfnet
Thanks. I feel kind of silly. I thought the disk backup required a supported backup device and I wanted to put it on a firewire drive. Did the disk backup and it worked great.
