Cannot shutdown Retrospect 6 after failure

Hello:

I'm using Retrospect 6 Pro on Windows XP Pro machine. If backup fails (which happens quite often if I do backup across the home network), I cannot shutdown Retrospect anymore, I have to restart my computer. Even if I try to shutdown the program using the Task Manager it doesn't work. Is there any solution for this?

I would appreciate your help.

Thank you.

I'm backing up to the file on my hard drive. The failure is not in issue, sometimes backup fails when I try to backup files from another computer on my network and I have a problem with network connection. These failures occur not because of Retrospect.

The problem is that after this happens I cannot shut down or restart Retrospect without restarting my PC.

Thanks,

Peter
