Dont Posted March 4, 2003 Report Share Posted March 4, 2003 I'm considering the idea of using an Xserve with Retrospect to back up 2 Windows 2000 Servers - one has Exchange & the other has SQL... I didn't see anything for pre-sales documentation -- a quick check of technotes indicates I need multi server with the appropriate clients (?) ... is it that simple? Thanks. AmyJ Posted March 4, 2003 Report Share Posted March 4, 2003 Backing up Windows NT/2000 Servers as clients requires Retrospect Multi-Server Backup for Windows or Single-Server for Windows to backup the machine locally. The Macintosh product cannot properly backup a Windows Server OS. Other then the registry, no system state information can be backed up, which would leave you with an unstable (unusable?) system on restore.
