johndon
When you restore an entire volume and that volume is your C: partition how much of the Windows folder is replaced? I ask because the note on pg 51 of the User’s manual states in part “…Restore entire volume does not delete the active Windows system…”
AmyJ
Retrospect will overwrite any changed files and delete any files that don't exist in the backup set snapshot. Identical files will not be overwritten. Upon completion, your restored Windows directory will match your original Windows directory.
mannheim
Not knowing much about Windows, I don't know how this works: can an application (eg Retrospect) really overwrite files like C:\Windows\System32\kernel32.dll while C:\Windows is the current system folder? AmyJ
Retrospect can replace the file if needed on a full system restore.
