This software was bundled with a Maxtor external USB hard drive. I seem to be receiving quite a number of error messages in the log file, as follows: MapError: unknown Windows error 122 instIniWriteItem: WritePrivateProfileString failed, error 122 I have not been able to find any information under the support knowledge base section of the Dantz website, so any information regarding this error would be appreciated. tom77 Posted March 4, 2003 Report Share Posted March 4, 2003 I am having a very similar problem to you. I am getting error 122 and error 5. My backup appears to complete without any problems, then these errors occur and Retrospect Express quits on its own (even when running a backup manually). I'm using Win98SE and the version of Retrospect that came with my Maxtor 5000 external drive and have tried backing up to my internal drive and a network drive with the same results. According to other posts, error 5 is cosmetic so I'm not too worried about it. However, error 122 seems to be causing the program to quit on its own even with manual (not unattended) backups. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
