Retro makes logout time out

Recommended Posts

I'm using Retro Desktop 5.0.238, under Mac OS X 10.2.3. I'm using a backup server script to backup a couple of clients to an Imation Travan 20 Firewire tape drive. My problem is that even after the server script stops, due to its time expiring, Retro is still running the Backup Server. And when you quit Retro, it goes out and does something with the tape drive (rewinds? retensions? I dunno) that takes a considerable amount of time. If Retro is being quit because you're logging out, logout times out waiting for it, and you don't get logged out. Now, all the above is important because I want to put this Mac on a UPS, with software that tells the Mac to shut down in the event of a power failure. But that shutdown is going to time out if it has to wait for Retro to do its thing with the tape drive.

Any ideas?

Why doesn't Retro quit the backup server when there's no script active?
