wow
I realize that machines and networks will cause this to vary wildly, but what is everyone's average /best throughput on a 100M network? I'm seeing about 20MB/MIN, which seems insanely slow? I'm seeing about 20MB/MIN, which seems insanely slow? That does sound slow. I'm seeing *up to* 50 MB/min on a 10Mb network. Of course, some clients are slower, but 20MB/min is about my lower limit. However, that 10Mb is switched, so each client has that dedicated 10Mb all to itself. From switch onward it is 100Mb or better. 50MB/min is close to the theoretical maximum on a 10Mb segment. For those clients nearer 20MB/min, it means the network isn't the bottle neck.
PFraterdeus
I've done a restore from a Disk Fileset to a locally mounted Firewire (4200rpm) and it's taken over 12 hours to restore 20GB. Now, the process window says there are no files left to copy, but that it's "Completing Restore" About one filename per second flashes by. There are over 380,000 files. What is goin' on here??? Why should it take 12 hours to restore 20G??? Please, any ideas, hints pointers > peterf@mac Thanks! Peter
