kurtrahn
Got another one too... I installed the client (v5.0.540) onto three Macs newly upgraded to Jaguar (v10.2.3). For some reason, all three clients seem to turn themselves off whenever they get restarted, logged off or put to sleep. It's easy enough to turn them all back on again, but every time one of the three aforementioned events happens, they turn themselves off again. I've installed it on four other Jaguar-upgraded computers thus far with no such problems. Can anyone shed some light on this issue?
AmyJ
Uninstall the client software and run the 5.0.540 installer. Is the client located any place other then the default location (Applications/Retrospect Client/)? In the StartupItems folder (/Library/StartupItems/RetroClient/) is a unix shell script that's hard coded with the path to the Retrospect Client's default location. If you want the client to be kept somewhere else you can edit the shell script to reflect your custom location.
kurtrahn
Thanks, Amy! I think you nailed it. I installed the Retto software in the main Apps folder and moved it to the Utilities folder. That's probably the problem. Much appreciated. Any insights into my second issue ("Can't connect to client")? KR
