melzer Posted February 5, 2003 Report Share Posted February 5, 2003 After completing a "duplicate" of my C: drive using Retrospect Express 5.6 to my new Maxtor 5000DV 200gb firewire drive, the log generated the following error: instIniWriteItem: WritePrivateProfileString failed, error 5 OS is Win XP Home, Maxtor drive was re-formatted to NTFS after Retrospect installation. Formatted as a single NTFS partition and was performed BEFORE any duplication was done.........Any ideas as to what is causing this error message?
