fritzer
We've been using NEC NR7900A with Retrospect 5.6 for a good while, and have had some difficulties, but generally good results. ( I see, though, that the drive is not listed as a supported drive....) Recently we loaded Roxio's CD Creator, then removed it because it conflicted with Retrospect, making backups impossible. After removal of CD Creator, problems continued: disk busy, -206 errors, -204 errors, thousands of execution errors if the backups would even run at all. We edited the Windows registry per Roxio's support instructions to remove high and low filters. We've tried Imation and Memorex disks with identical results, and have tried fresh and fully erased disks of both brands. We checked drive cabling, updated drive firmware, loaded software updates. We continue to have no change in results. The drive works just fine as a reader. I don't know what we haven't tried, but I'm at wit's end. Any suggestions? fritzer
Update_ No need to reply. We installed a different drive in a different machine and reloaded software and backup routines; it all seems fine. I'm guessing the NEC drive isn't fully supported... AmyJ
You're correct - the original drive is currently unsupported. Thanks for the update!
