ssevenup
Latest server version running on 10.2.3 workstation with updated clients. On multiple PC clients we are seeing files reported as 300GB+ each. In some cases this causes Retrospect to refuse to back up saying "can't add that much data". The files show under 1MB in size in Windows Explorer. Some are graphics files and some are scientific test data. I had one user try copying the offending folder someplace else, deleting the original and then moving them back. The result was that some of the files are now reported normally, but not the ones in any subfolders. There are no finder.dat files anywhere in sight. I don't know if this is a fragmentation issue or what is going on, but this is damn peculiar. My quick fix was to limit backups of files over 100,000MB. By the way, if the backup does manage to run it will report something in the terrabyte range left during the backup and in the log the offending files show as not backed up. Maser
"finder.dat" files are hidden files. You have to view all hidden/system files to find them. Maybe that's it (until Dantz fixes this?)
