mpf
I have a WinME client on a small LAN using Workgroup 5.02 on a G4 (OS 10.2.3) host and Client 6.0 on the WinMe machine. I want to "park" ALL of my WinMe files on a large firewire external drive connected to the G4 (used for automated backups) while the WinMe machine's hard disk is replaced. Is the best way to "Archive" or "Copy" the WinMe contents with Retrospect or just "drag icons" on the G4 (e.g. drag drive C of the Wintel, pulled up on the G4 via file sharing, to the external drive)? Or maybe it's best to just Restore the WinMe's backup? (I know I must reinstall WinMe and the Client s/w in a temp directory on C if I use Retrospect's Restore.) Thanks! AmyJ
When storing Windows files on a Macintosh drive, your best option is to to a backup via the Retrospect Client software to a File backup set - from which you can later restore.
