I too, am having problems with the following error message: instIniWriteItem: WritePrivateProfileString failed, error 5 Although I've read in recent posts that this is not a problem and will be removed from future versions of the software, I'm not sure my scheduled backup last night was successful. Here is the log from that attempted auto backup: + Retrospect Express version 5.6.132 Automatically launched at 1/8/2003 11:30 PM instIniWriteItem: WritePrivateProfileString failed, error 5 Quit at 1/8/2003 11:30 PM instIniWriteItem: WritePrivateProfileString failed, error 5 ----------------------------- The script was to run at 11:30, and looking at this message, it surely looks like the backup never took place since it both launched and quit at 11:30p.
