Windows Client cannot be found

Recommended Posts

I have a small network of computers, all Jaguar and one Windows 2000 computer. All the computers have unique IP addresses and work fine in all other ways. The OS X clients are always found on the network, the Win2000 client is found intermittently. I am at home right now and do not know what version of the client software is on the Win client, but I downloaded and updated the client about a month ago after it was not working and all was fine for one back up, but again it is not seen anymore. My admin computer is up to date too as far as I know. I have read Dantz' Technote 413 and do not have any of the issues mentioned therein. Any ideas welcome. TIA.

Try pinging the client during one of the intermittent times when the client is not found by Retrospect - does the ping get a response?

Can you verify that the computer is on at the time? How about sleep mode or hibernation?
