Retrospect taking over drives.

Recommended Posts

I'venoticed that when I have Retrospect open, my internal CD drive is no longer available for burning discs using Toast or finder burn. I couldn't find anything in the manual on this. Anyone know I way I can still use Toast without having to keep quitting Retrospect?

Retrospect 5.0 in OS X will look for available storage devices and load drivers appropriately to allow full access to all potential backup devices. Once Retrospect loads a driver, no other programs can control (load a driver) for that device. We are investigating ways to "ignore" devices, as we were able to in OS 9.

For the time being, loading a CD or having Toast open before launching Retrospect should allow the other program to control the device and not Retrospect.
