tazmaniac
I'm backing up to file (on an external drive) each a.m. - a Recycle Backup on Sun. a.m. - Normal Backup on Mon. through Sat. Let's say a file changes daily. On Friday, I decide I want the version of the file from Monday's backup. How on earth do I get it? I understand that each day's versions are stored (correct?) but I can't seem to get anything listed for Restore except the most recent "snapshot". If I can't go back like I describe, then I need a different backup program.
AmyJ
The Express Edition only allows access to the most recent snapshots. Historical snapshots are not available. You can, however, retrieve earlier versions of files through a Search restore. While in Retrospect, go to Immediate > Restore > Search and retrieve files Once you choose the source backup set and the restore destination, you will be prompted to type in the name of the file or folder you'd like to restore. You can then choose, from a list of results, which file you'd like to restore. The Professional version will allow you to restore from older snapshots.
