Simple backup/restore

You need to make the Retrospect Express software work better with the Maxtor external drive. The only way I have found to do any backups is to press the OneTouch button on the Maxtor.

 

Pressing Backup doesn't work right in Retrospect Express. You can pick a source drive, say C:\. After that the backup process breaks down. You are supposed to pick a Destination. The only choice you are given is the "Backup Set A" made with the Maxtor OneTouch Button. When you choose "Backup Set A", and you Proceed, Retrospect does do a scan of C:\ but stops at that point since it can't find the Maxtor to back up to.

 

 

 

So Dantz has to do some work to make the Retrospect software work with the Maxtor and other external hard drives.

The Maxtor drive makes duplicates, not backups (backup sets). In the window you are referring to, you have the choice to create a new backup set with the Create New button.
