martind
I'm backing up Macs and Windows 2000 Servers to version 5.0.238 (OSX 10.2.3). When Win2K server is restarted it rebuilds the Appleshare database. Retrospect sees all files as no longer matching backup set. Total files are over 200 GB - so I don't really want to re-backup every time I restart my Windows servers. I'm auto mounting volumes to retain resource forks etc. Any ideas on how to overcome this problem?
AmyJ
In reply to: When Win2K server is restarted it rebuilds the Appleshare database. If the files are being changed (size, date, etc.) when the database is being rebuilt, Retrospect will back them up again. The program makes no determination as to why they changed - only that they are different and need to be copied again. I would look into ways to prevent the database from being rebuilt each time you restart. Are you mounting the Services for Mac volume via AFP or some other method?
