Spurious Error -34 -> 1 GB = 1000 GB?

Recommended Posts

I'm getting the following error while trying to run a normal backup:

- 12/13/2002 2:20:09 PM: Copying BIG_DRIVE (C:) on LOWER_ALPHA

12/13/2002 2:20:09 PM: Connected to LOWER_ALPHA

Can't add that much data to backup set.

The limit is 1000.0 G.

12/13/2002 2:20:30 PM: Execution incomplete.

Remaining: 14151 files, 1014.7 GB

Completed: 0 files, zero KB

Performance: 0.0 MB/minute

Duration: 00:00:21 (00:00:21 idle/loading/preparing)

I'm running Retrospect Server 5.0.238 on an iMac dedicated to backups.

Backup medium is a VXA-1 firewire tape drive.

The client is a Windows 95 machine (which has had the TCP/IP hot patch

recommended from the README installed). The drive in question has

just 1.68 gigs on it, NOT just over a terabyte. Version of Win95 is:

4.00.950 B

And after moving that drive lower in the queue, I've found that the other

partitions on this computer can be backed up. All are currently holding

less than 1 GB though.

My googling and searching on dantz.com haven't turned up anything about

this particular problem.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

Try looking here on this Forum board. It was discovered and discussed about a month ago.

Well, I did that before I posted. Nothing.

Did it again, at your suggestion. Nothing.

Any suggestions for keyword? 34, 1000, 1000.0, 1000 GB, cuts and pastes from

the log entry, terabyte, windows 95, VXA-1.

Nothing related to this appears.

thanks
