johnpitcairn
I'm getting this error following a request for new media. I insert the new media (DLT), the backup resumes and immediately throws the 515 error for each following volume. There are no problems if the backup doesn't need to span to additional media - I can immediately repeat the backup to the same new tape with no problem. Any suggestions? AmyJ
While in Retrospect, go to Configure > Devices > Device Status and list Vendor, Product and Version for your drive. Also list make and model for your SCSI card.
johnpitcairn
Vendor: Quantum Product: DLT4000 Version: (blank) Driver: DLT 20.0 DC (5.01) SCSI card is the built-in SCSI (external port) on a Umax S900 running Mac OS X 10.1.5 and Retrospect Workgroup 5.0.236 On the client (Powerbook G4/1000) it's Mac OS X 10.2.2, Client 5.0.540 BUT I don't think it's a server/hardware problem anyway. I've only been getting the 515 error since upgrading to a new Powerbook - this system was running just fine for 9 months with no 515 errors, using the same server/hardware/OS and my old Powerbook G4/500 (same OS, same client version). Network is the same 10Mbit unswitched ethernet. The client was of course clean reinstalled on the new powerbook. So, is there perhaps something related to the new Powerbook that could be triggering this?
