mdowsett Posted November 26, 2002 Report Share Posted November 26, 2002 Multiple drive backup - aka sequential - aka spanning Does both Desktop and Workgroup have the ability to span mulitiple drives using Retrospect v5 with OS X Server 10.2.x? Is there a setting to turn on or is it supposed to automatically go to the second drive attached when the first tape is filled up? AmyJ Posted December 9, 2002 Report Share Posted December 9, 2002 Retrospect cannot currently utilize more then one drive within the same library. When a tape fills in an autoloader configuration, Retrospect will look for (and load) a blank tape into the same drive. Automatic detection of tapes is the default behavior in an automated backup. If you are running Immediate Backups, you'll need to configure the Control menu (available when an immediate operation is running) to "Run Unattended."
