Please explain why the 'Files Chosen' option appears when making a immediate duplicate but not when compiling a duplicate script.

With out the option of 'Files Chosen', how does one select individual files to include in a scripted scheduled duplicate?

Also, the software bundled with my Maxtor 5000DV is 5.6, not the latest version 6. Why is this? Is there a charge to upgrade to 6?

Thank you for your time.

Regards,

Immediate Duplicate is considered a manual operation, and the Files Chosen window generates a new 'live' picture of the current state of the drive. Because a scripted Duplicate is an automated operation, this feature is not available. With Express it is not possible to script the backup of only selected files without the use of one of the pre-configured selectors (All Files, All Files except Cache Files, Documents, etc.). You can also set up Subvolumes which will backup (and remember) selected directories.

5.6 was the shipping version when this bundle package was put together. Version 6.0 is not compatible with the One Touch button. You can upgrade and use automatted scripts with 6.0 and your Maxtor drive, but the button functionality will not work.

The upgrade cost to 6.0 through the Dantz store is: $59.95
