Laptop Power Options

Under Retrospect Professional 6.0 (installed by upgrade over Retropsect Express) under Windows 2000 Professional, I recently had to perform a full drive restore due to a drive hardware failure. After successfully restoring the drive using the disaster recovery CD, when signing on as the Administrator, I noticed that the laptop power options were not restored properly. I had modified these settings (Settings, Control Panel, Power Options) and changed the Hard Disk and System Standby from the defaults to never at the advice of my CD-RW manufacturer. After the restore these options now show as the defaults. Why does Retrospect not properly restore the Control Panel settings?

Hi,

I hope you get a reply for this... we really should not what to expect during a disaster recovery. "Almost" restoring is not good enough... in your case you were easily able to change the settings, but perhaps other settings may not be so obvious or easy, I'm afraid.

Sincerely,

Joun
