Gwynne
I've just purchased a Sony DVD Writer with Retrospect 5.6 (Sony Edition) for Windows bundled. The DVD Writer is installed in a PC running Windows NT with Service Pack 6a. I want to use the software to make backups of the local hard drive of the NT machine. After installing the software, the code entry box pops up with a code already in it. This code is rejected with the message: "Sorry that code failed. Needs code for Retrospective Workgroup Backup or similar product". I contacted Sony, who directed me to another code stored in a readme file on the installation CD, but this didn't work either, and I got the same error message. How do I obtain the correct code? AmyJ
Retrospect Express cannot be installed on a Server OS. The only supported OS's with Express are: Win95, Win98, WinME, WinXP Home and Pro, Win NT Workstation, Win2000 Pro. You will need to upgrade to Single-Server (formerly called Workgroup) or Multi-Server (formerly Server) to run on a Server OS.
