Device and Hardware Compatibility

hello i am new to this list.

 

 

 

and i have a problem retrospect express does not recognize my firewire external hard drive therefore i am unable to run scheduled back ups. my initial back up went fine i think, it does show up on the external drive.

 

 

 

i am running the following configuration:

 

 

 

computer: mac g4 450

 

system: os 10.1.5

 

retrospect express: 4.3 with driver update 2.5

 

external hd: beyond micro, 120g, 7200rpm, oxford 911 chip

 

 

 

other information:

 

 

 

1. the apple system profiler is reading the external drive.

 

2. the configured back up sets do appear on the drive.

 

3. when i check the available storage device window i get the following

 

“no backup devices found”

 

 

 

any help would be appreciated
