wfcook
We have been using Backup Express for several months. We developed an extensive script to backup appx 1000 selected files. Example --- all files with '.BAS' extension. We are moving to another computer and have installed Backup express on the new computer. We cannot get the user script function to work. The only selection possible is the preset selectors supplied with the system. We cannot get the script editor to show up so we can insert the script desired. There may be some problem with versions/license codes. We tried a couple of old trial versions before we purshased and possibly installed a trial version first. We did UNINSTALL & reinstall the purshased copy & still no results. The license code was SUVY-WLW3-99PX-PH8R and the order # was 31058. By the way you have a very sophisticated set of conditions for selecting the backup files. It would seem that a regular text file could be used to do this specification( at least optionally) The GUI is really clumsy for more than a few conditions. Another point is that it is tough to check the results of the backup. I had thought that a certain set of files was included. To my chagrin I found that, due to a syntax error, they were NOT included. An optional file generated with a list of all files selected for backup would give more confidence. Another option to save the files in some directory structure in their native form would allow the program to be used to transfer large groups of files from a computer with BACKUP to a computer without. I like the your file select capabilities & that was the reason we purshased. Regards W Cook
wfcook
I eventually found the problem-The password was for an express version-had a desktop version. Good documentation would have mentioned the differences!!! W Cook
