CarolynK Posted October 16, 2002 Report Share Posted October 16, 2002 I installed RE 5.6.132 OEM on Win XP Pro. After the install I got the message "Failed to install ISKernal Files. Make sure you have appropriate privileges on this machine." I am administrator on this machine. Is this something I should be concerned about? So far, backups seem to be working fine. AmyJ Posted October 16, 2002 Report Share Posted October 16, 2002 Uninstall and reboot. Make sure that the Program Files > Dantz > Retrospect folder is gone. If not, throw it away and reboot again. CarolynK Posted October 17, 2002 Author Report Share Posted October 17, 2002 Amy, I reinstalled and didn't get the ISKernal message this time. So far backups seem ok. However, the Operations Log intermittently shows the message "instIniWriteItem: WritePrivateProfileString failed, error 5". Can you tell me what this means and what I should do about it?
