I have two Retrospect systems and one cannot read the tapes of the other.

 

 

 

The two Retrospect systems;

 

System 1 is a G4, OS9.2, Retrospect 4.3, and a DLT7000(Autoloader)

 

System 2 is an 8500, OS8.6, Retrospect 4.2, and a DLT8000(single)

 

 

 

The two systems are in different locations, system 1 is used for daily backups and I would like to use system 2 for recovery.

 

When I load a tape from system 1 into system 2, the message from the media is "Erased".

 

 

 

Is the solution, upgrade system 2 to Retrospect 4.3? Or do I have some other problem?
