pbartoli Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 Recently it happened twice that my networked backup's catalogue of file went out of sync. Is it normal? What might cause this problem? I'm working with Retrospect 8.2 on Mac, with backup to file on a RAID hard disk.
Maser Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 Could be catalog file corruption. If you rebuild the catalog file, does the log show any errors?
pbartoli Posted December 1, 2010 Author Report Posted December 1, 2010 Of course I did rebuild the catalogue and now the backup is back working. No more errors. What puzzles me is that it occurred twice in two weeks...
Maser Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 Power outage? Engine crash? Have you run "Disk Utility" to verify the RAID disk? There could be a lot of reasons why the catalog got hosed, unfortunately.
