Retrospect 6.1 & HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GH41N

Hello,

I'm unable to use the HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GH41N to burn DVDs using Retrospect 6.1. See log:

 

Retrospect version 6.1.230

DVD+R media type is not ready to be used with the drive

Any idea how to make it work?

Will it this burner work with Retrospect 8 or I'll have the same problem?

Your DVD burner does not seem to be a supported device:

Retrospect Supported Devices Database

 

Will it this burner work with Retrospect 8 or I'll have the same problem?

You may see the same results. Why not download a trial of Retrospect 8, enable Optical Device use using this KB article:

Retrospect 8.x for Macintosh Optical Support

 

then see what happens.

 

My suggestion would be to get a supported device.
