Marietta
I am backing up one windows client which has been working fine. Now retrospect is saying that the source is unavailable. I tested the Ip address and it still finds the client. Where else can I look to connect? DALA
Maser
When you say "finds the client" -- do you mean if you select the "source" and hit "refresh", that you are getting current data bouncing back from the client? If so, what happens when you browse the source? Do you see the hard disk? If so, can you browse the hard disk?
Marietta
It will see the client when I click on add a source and then test the IP address. I left it at that, since I already have that client as a source. When I click on the client in the sources, I cannot browse the contents. When I refresh, it says that the source is unavailable. Maser
I had a Windows 7 client (admin user) accidentally change their Network location (from Work to Private -- or vice-versa, can't remember now) and this had the adverse effect of changing the firewall settings for the client. And, *another* time, I had a client move his hard disk into the "Private" location in the Retrospect Control Panel -- so it was gone from the engine. Maybe try removing the client and readding it? If you still can't see the hard disk, I'd suggest checking the client to see if they did anything odd...
Marietta
Thanks. There didn't seem to be a problem on the client side, so I restarted the retrospect Engine. I had a problem connecting to the Windows client when I upgraded, and I was told this was a fix. So far, this seems to have resolved the problem.
