eblack
This client was having lots of problems with data overwrite attempts and the catalog getting out of synch. We finally replaced the tapes hoping that would resolve the problem. Now we're getting an error 206 with sense info from the tandberg. Any idea how to parse this information? Do we need to replace the drive? Can't read file “.hotfiles.btreeâ€, error -40 (file positioning error), path: “Macintosh HD/.hotfiles.btreeâ€. Trouble writing: “1-MZA Week 3†(1705836544), error 206 (drive reported a failure: dirty heads, bad media, etc.). Additional error information for device "Tandberg Ultrium 2 DC" [0:2], Sense > f0 00 03 00 00 00 08 0e 00 00 00 00 03 02 00 00 00
rhwalker
(1) it would be helpful if you supplied even minimal configuration information (Version of Retrospect? x.x.x; Version of Mac OS X? (x.x.x) (2) Have you tried running the Tandberg (Exabyte) diagnostics? (3) Exabyte (Tandberg) do have the full manual on their site, with all sense info.
