Mitchell.Sharpe
Hello all ! I have installed Retro 8 on a remote server and want to access it from an admin machine behind our firewall ... I need to know the port which needs to be opened for the Admin App to be able to see the Engine on the server ... Apples listing of ports says it's 497 (TCP/UDP Dantz Retrospect) - just wondering if anyone can confirm this ? Mitch

rhwalker
Apples listing of ports says it's 497 (TCP/UDP Dantz Retrospect) - just wondering if anyone can confirm this ? Port 497 is used for chatting between the clients and Retrospect engine during backup. There's also the use of multicast/broadcast during client discovery. The port 22024 stuff is new with Retrospect 8, and is used for the Retospect console to chat with Retrospect engine (on those occasions when they are being sociable and actually are willing to talk to each other).
