mikeycisme
Hello, we're trying to test out the disaster recovery mechanism in Retrospect but when we create the CD as per the instructions, we find that the CD is not bootable. Is there something we're doing wrong? Thanks Knoa IT
jwright
Which version of Retrospect are you using? 7.7 has a new emergency recovery CD. Can you provide more details on how you created the CD? It should be bootable though. Silly question: you do have the CD drive set as a bootable device in the BIOS, right? mikeycisme
Hi Jeff, thanks for the email. We're using v7.6. We're following the procedure as outlined in the manual and via the Disaster recovery wizard just going through the steps it takes us through. We have a Windows server 2003 bootable CD in the drive to use to create a bootable DR CD but when the CD is created it doesn't have any files that are required to boot up windows ... but it has the i386 folder and all sorts of other drivers. Yes, the CD Drive is set to be tried as the first device to boot from and the message we get is that the CD is not bootable.
