x509
Sorry if this is a repost. Can I manually prune a backup dataset to remove files that weren't supposed to be backed up? This would allow me to recover about 300 MB of disk space. Thank you.
rhwalker
You can if you have spare disk space with which to work. Investigate the "Transfer" procedure in Retrospect, whereby you can transfer the contents (all or part) of one backup set to another. You can use a filter (selector) in the process to exclude certain files or only include others, etc. Just create a new data set, do the transfer as desired. Test well the results before deleting the old backup set. See if that helps. Russ
