deiney
Hi, I'm trying to use a Disaster Recovery CD to completely restore my Lenovo laptop, which doesn't boot. I have the catalog file on the computer, but the actual backup is on a network drive. I can successfully boot from CD and open retrospect but it looks like the limited XP installation doesn't have network access. Can you suggest me what to do? Is there any way of activating network access? Even enabling access to USB external drive would help, but looks like that doesn't work either. Thank you! rhwalker
Your easiest solution is probably not to use the DR CD, but instead to attach an external drive, do a full OS install there and updates, boot from that external drive, install Retrospect onto it, reboot to that external drive, copy over the catalog file(s), mount the network drive with the actual backup, do the restore to the laptop drive. hgutstein
 I am having the same issue and the above did not help. I did talk to tech support and they said it is possible to load NAS drivers from the disaster recovery disk, but I have not yet figured out how to do this. Any ideas?? Thx H
rhwalker
You might want to search on posts that Jeff Wright has done, or contact him because he has done this. See: Link You'd also have better luck if you posted in the Retrospect Windows forum. This is pretty much a dead forum where you have posted.
