eshirk
Hi--new to the forum here. We're running Retrospect Server v6.1.230 on three G5s connected to xServe RAIDs; backups are executed by script to file backup sets. Last month we upgraded the G5s from 10.4.11 to 10.5.7, and since then have occasionally had the following Retrospect error on all three servers: Can't save Snapshot in Backup Set A [043], error -36 (i/o error, bad media?). We're doubting that this is truly a hardware problem. The RAID admin utility shows healthy drives across the board. The Restrospect errors are intermittent, here one day and gone the next. And it's highly unlikely that all three RAIDS would develop hardware problems at the same time. We're suspecting a problem with the Leopard upgrade, but Retrospect tech support says that there are no known compatibility issues with Retrospect 6 and Leopard. They recommend that we trash our Retrospect config files and rebuild from scratch, which will be a royal pain. Has anybody seen anything like this post-Leopard? Many thanks-- Beth
