Coleman_Smith Posted July 30, 2009 Report Share Posted July 30, 2009 I have professional Retrospect on a 2 pc net work with an external hard drive. I want to replace my current PC with another one. All the files I want to transfer are in "MyFiles". Can I just back up to the hard drive and usual, securely erase the data, and then restore to the new PC. I am aware that I need to uninstal Retrospect from the old in order to install it on the new and to keep my licenses. Is it safer to just copy MyFiles to the HD and then erase that on the external HD after the transfers. I am using AES 256 on both my pc and the external HD.
