Two mounted drives that cannot be distinguished?

Recommended Posts

So, it seems the following two directories are "indistinguishable?"

audrey:Volumes robert$ echo /Volumes/RNTC*

/Volumes/RNTC /Volumes/RNTC-1

"There are two mounted disks named RNTC that are indistinguishable from each other. One of these should be renamed so that this program (and people) are not confused"

This all despite the fact that my scripts never reference RNTC as a BackupSet or a Source etc.

Why do I get an alert upon startup of Retrospect that it sees two drives that are "indistguishable" when they are clearly distinct?

The OS itself and the Finder can clearly distinguish b/w these two directories so why can't Retrospect?
