Backup in Folder on LAcie D2 Harddrive not possible

DocOle

Recommended Posts

I want to put my Backup set in a Folder on a 1TB Lacie D2 Harddrive like it was possible with a Maxtor one touch III.

The Lacie shows up as removable media due to the protection. Therefore Retrospect wants to erase all data on the drive before creating a backup set.

Is there a workaround?

Thanks a lot.

I found a workaround myself. Retrospect 7.6 thinks that the Lacie Harddrive is a removable media. Adding a subvolume again leads to the message before backup "All data on Lacie will be lost".

So I created a network folder and that was accepted by retrospect.

Strange behaviour ...
