Recycle Backup Fails

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've got Retrospect installed on a Server 2003 box with a nightly file backup to a NAS drive (QNAP). I run Normal backups every night, except for one night a week when I run a recycle backup to stop the file getting too big.

The problem I'm having is that the recycle backup never works. The error log is shown below, and I can note the following points:

- The Normal backups work fine, so there is no problem connecting to the NAS drive to write the files.

- After the failed recycle backup, the file on the NAS drive is reduced to 5kb, so the reset is working.

- If I schedule a Normal backup 5 minutes after the Recycle backup it works fine and I get the same overall result, but with lots of errors from the Recycle sat in my Inbox.

I'd like to figure out why this is happening, and I've tried all sorts of combinations of automatic logins (although the NAS is on the domain so doesn't need a login from that server), running retrospect as a service (or not) etc and still the same errors. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,

James
