Difficulties Duplicating

In trying to Duplicate (with "Replace Entire Disk" selected) one user from a MacBook (Intel, 10.5.7) using Retrospect 6.1.230 to a G5 with Retrospect Client 6.1.234, where the user is one of several users on one G5 partition:

 

• Although the Duplicating instructions indicate: "Identical files already present on the destination are not duplicated", the Duplicate operation begins by completely deleting all contents.
  
• The progress window and Log both indicate that Files were copied, but none show in the Finder.

Both Users are admin. I see (from BatchMod) that the user-level permissions are rwxr-x--- for the source User and rwx------ for the target User. Both groups are set to "staff".

 

Could this be a permissions issue?
